Our choirs are now on their summer break, but if you're missing your singing hit already, there's always the Bluegrass Festival Choir to save the day. Details below, and see calendar for the class dates.
We have a strong group of around 40 people signed up for this year's programme, and the choir is sounding in great voice for our special performance at the 25th Bluegrass Festival on Sunday September 4. The Bluegrass Festival Choir, now in its fifth year, is an established and popular feature of the Folk Park line-up, and this year's milestone 25th Festival promises to be even more barnstorming than usual.
The classes ran on Tuesdays from July 19th in the Learning Centre in the Folk Park (about 5 miles north of Omagh, on the A5). As always, we welcomed singers of all ages and musical abilities, both our regular choir members and the wider community; this year we've encouraged more young people, from 13-plus, to come along with an adult and give it a go. No music-reading skills were necessary, as all the songs were taught by ear, and singers were given practice CDs to help learn their parts. Come and join us to hear the fantastic results of all our hard work (and fun).
Festival Choir performance is 3.30pm, Sunday 4th September, and choir
members will get free admission on the day to all Bluegrass events.
